BAY ST. LOUIS, MS -- August 1, 2006. October 5,6,& 7,will bring back familiar sites for early fall, Classic Cars, Music and Tourists! Yes, Cruisin the Coast’s show will go on. Thousands of beautiful automobiles and the tourists inside of them, will be visiting Hancock County again, celebrating our 10th year of welcoming visitors from all over the Country.
The official days of operation in Bay St. Louis will be Thursday through Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. “The Historic Depot District will be the central site for our 10th anniversary this year” said Beth Carriere, tourism director and Cruisin’ the Coast Board member. The Hancock County Tourism Development Bureau is the proud sponsor for the Bay St. Louis site each year. Waveland will entertain cruisers as a “Pit Stop” venue on Saturday and are combining this successful event with their successful “Wave Fest” this year! “I understand that Waveland may be bringing back the “Burn Out Alley” this year, and the cruisers are excited about participating again” Carriere said.
The route for cruisers, on the days of official operation is as follows:
I-10 to Highway 603 South, 603 to Highway 90, Highway 90 east to Main Street, Main Street to Second Street, Right on Second Street to Union Street, right on Union to the Depot District. The route from Main Street to the Depot District will be closed to all traffic but registered cruisers during the official hours and days of operation.
“With the bridges out of service, the challenge for the cruisers this year will be traveling the interstate highway. The Bay St. Louis site is a mandatory stop, but knowing how popular Hancock County venues have become, I am sure we would be very busy anyway” Beth proudly says.
