14th Annual Providence Boat Show - Kutztown, PA
Venue: Rhode Island Convention Center and the Dunkin’ Dounts Center
This is one of the biggest winter boat shows in New England, featuring Fishing and Cruising Powerboats as well as Cruising and Racing Sailboats plus all kinds of equipment and accessories at two side-by-side locations with over 240,000 sq. feet of exhibitor space. This year, the show will present more than 280 exhibitors with over 300 boats ranging in size from 8 to 47 feet on display at both locations…along with kayaks, inflatables, and accessories. Services such as financing, insurance, storage, surveying, repair and maintenance are featured at booths throughout the Show. The RI DEM will even be offering boat registration and renewal services right at the Show! On-site indoor parking and convenient access from major New England highways make the location the best in the region. But, this year, with the show under the management of Newport Exhibition Group, operators of the Newport International Boat Show, there’s a lot more excitement and promotional effort to add to the liveliness of the show and bring even more sparkle to the winter boating season.

Great Chowder Cook-Off - Newport, RI
Venue: Newport Yachting Center
The first of Newport's array of summer festivals, the 26th Annual Schweppes Great Chowder Cook-off will feature over 3000 gallons of chowder served up by over 30 of the nation's best restaurants and chefs! The restaurants compete for over $10,000 in prizes by entering into one of two Culinary Competitions: First is the Chowdah competition where chefs enter their specialty chowder in one of three categories - best clam, seafood or creative chowder. Second is the Clam Cake Competition where chefs fry up the fluffiest and heartiest clam cake recipes
