28th Annual Prairie Arts Festival - West Point, MS
The Prairie Arts Festival is held each year on the Saturday before Labor Day from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in West Point's downtown area. Includes fine arts, crafts, down-home southern cooking, four stages of live music, Classic cars, Kidsville, and much more, the Prairie Arts Festival features more than 600 exhibits. After all the fun of the day, the festival concludes with a live concert in city park at 8:00 p.m. An annual tradition since 1978, the festival has been recognized, for the twelfth straight year, as one of the top ten events in the south. The Prairie Arts Festival is one of the largest arts and crafts festivals in the country, attracting crowds of more than 40,000.

Wing Dang Doodle Festival - Forest, MS
The Wing Dang Doodle Festival is a celebration of chicken and blues music. The festival will feature a chicken wing cook off, arts and crafts, talent show, car show, live entertainment, demonstrating artists, pet show, pet parade and children's activities. Keith "Chickin' Daddy" Hunter will headline entertainment for this year's festival.

Great Mississippi River Balloon Race 2006 - Natchez, MS
The Great Mississippi River Balloon Race will be one of your most memorable weekends! Two balloon flights take place each day, weather permitting. Pilots compete in "Hare & Hounds" and "The Barge Drop" as they fly over antebellum homes and the mighty Mississippi River. You may see up to 100 hot air balloons take to the skies at the same time!
