Aloha Festivals Queen Lili'uokalani Music Festival - Big Island, HI
Aloha Festivals will honor Queen Lili‘uokalani, Hawai‘i's last monarch with music, food and multi-ethnic dance. More than 300 dancers from dozens of local hâlau will perform, sharing their love of hula. Top name island entertainers will also perform. The festival will be held at Queen Lili‘uokalani Park from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Shuttle to and from Civic Auditorium parking area will be offered.

Moloka'i Hoe 2006 - Molokai, HI
A 41-mile Outrigger Canoe race from Molokai to Oahu across the Kaiwi Channel, the Molokai Hoe is considered the world championship of men's long-distance outrigger canoe racing. The race begins at 7 a.m. at Hale O Lono Harbor and finishes at Duke Kahanamoku Beach in Waikiki.

2006 Ironman Triathlon World Championship - Big Island, HI
A 2.4-mile ocean swim, 112-mile bike race and 26.2-mile run. Competitors have 17 hours to finish. The swim segment begins and ends at the pier in Kailua. The bike race travels north on the Kona Coast to the small village of Hawi, and then returns along the same route to the King Kamahamaha Hotel. The marathon course travels through Kailua and onto the same highway used for the bike race. Contestants run back into Kailua-Kona, coming down Alii Drive to the cheers of more than 25,000 people at the finish line. (808) 329-0063

Orionids Meteor Shower Sail- Oahu, HI
Great year for the Orionids since the moon is new and will have set before darkness falls. Averaging one meteor every two minutes, they stem from the upraised club of the constellation Orion, which is easily recognized. Orion rises by 10:30 p.m. and will be in the sky the entire night. We leave the harbor at 12:30am. Sail to the darkest location for best viewing on our 42 ft. catamaran.
