Shorter routes contain very few hills and longer routes contain up to 7,400 feet of cumulative climbing, traversing Alabama's highest point, Cheaha Mountain. The ride follows the federally designated Appalachian Highlands Scenic Byway, affording some of the most scenic roadways in the Southeast. 6 a.m. registration.

Showdown on the Coosa II - Wetumpka, AL
The 1/4 mile Drag Boat Races will take place at Wetumpka's Gold Star Park. Admission for Saturday and Sunday is $7.00 a day for adults, children 12 & under free. Gates open at 9:00; racing starts at 12:00. Friday is setup and practice with the next 2 days being the actual race. The races will host approximately 50 outboard drag boats competing in a double elimination quarter mile drag race. These boats range in speeds from 90 to over 130 mph in a quarter mile. A variety of food and beverage vendors will be available for both days.
