Melsted Place Lemon Tea Cookie

1 1/2 teaspoons vinegar
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup butter
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon shredded lemon peel
1 3/4 cup sifted all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon soda
1/4 teaspoon salt

Lemon Glaze:
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup lemon juice

Stir vinegar into milk, set aside. Cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Add egg and shredded lemon peel and beat. Sift dry ingredients, add to creamed mixture alternately with the milk and vinegar mixture, beating after each addition.

Drop cookie dough from a teaspoon 2 inches apart onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 12-14 minutes, or until very lightly browned on the edges, remove at once. Brush with lemon glaze. Enjoy!!
